Installing the CLU Extension
Step-by-step guide to install the CLU browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.
Follow this guide to install CLU on your preferred browser.
Chrome / Chromium-Based Browsers
Step 1: Visit the Chrome Web Store
1. Go to the CLU Chrome Extension page
2. Click the "Add to Chrome" button
Step 2: Confirm Installation
A popup will appear asking for permissions. Click "Add extension" to confirm.
Step 3: Verify Installation
You should see the CLU icon appear in your browser's extension area (top right corner).
Firefox
Step 1: Visit Firefox Add-ons
1. Go to the CLU Firefox page
2. Click "Add to Firefox"
Step 2: Review Permissions
Firefox will show you the permissions CLU needs. Click "Add" to continue.
Step 3: Verify Installation
The CLU icon should appear in your Firefox toolbar.
Edge
Step 1: Visit Microsoft Edge Store
1. Go to the CLU Microsoft Edge page
2. Click "Get"
Step 2: Allow Installation
A popup will ask for permission. Click "Add extension".
Step 3: Verify Installation
Look for the CLU icon in your Edge toolbar.
First Run Setup
After installation, you'll see the CLU welcome popup:
1. Review Privacy Notice - Understand how CLU works
2. Configure AI Provider - Select OpenAI, Gemini, or Claude
3. Enter API Key - Provide your API key for the chosen provider
4. Start Analyzing - You're ready to go!
Troubleshooting Installation
Icon Doesn't Appear
- **Chrome/Edge**: Check if extensions are hidden. Click the puzzle icon and pin CLU
- **Firefox**: Check if the extension was installed by going to Settings > Add-ons
- Try restarting your browser
Permission Errors
Some corporate networks block extensions. If you see permission errors:
- Contact your IT administrator
- Some networks may require approval before installing extensions
Can't Find API Key Settings
- Click the CLU icon in your toolbar
- Select "Settings" or "Configuration"
- You should see the API key configuration section
